Look, an update!

Yeah, yeah, I know—I’m really bad at these updates. Mostly because I’ve got so much going on, especially with the holiday season in full swing. But hey, I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! As for updates, they’ve mostly been minor. The main thing is I finally decided to do something about my top hero section, which always annoyed me. So, I gave it a complete overhaul, making it more aesthetic with a “night sky” theme. Now it has twinkling stars, shooting stars… AND Mr. Coffeenaut! I know, it’s a little corny, but I love watching him zoom around! On top of that, I did some minor code tweaks to fix bugs and theme issues.
I’ve also been thinking about learning React. I’ve gone through a few tutorials, but I’m not sure if I’m really ready to commit to it yet. Especially since, if I dive into it, I’ll probably want to start using it immediately, even though I don’t have much reason to—yet.
Streaming
I’ve been doing some light streaming lately, mostly with single-player, story-driven games. As much as I enjoy competitive play in World of Warcraft, League of Legends, and Apex Legends, I just don’t feel like it’s as entertaining for me—or for the viewers. When I get too into the competitive side, I tend to focus less on the stream and chat, which isn’t ideal for interaction.
Playing story-heavy games like Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human has really brought back a sense of nostalgia that I haven’t felt in ages. It feels like there’s been a shift away from story-focused games toward online and competitive play. Sure, there have been some amazing single-player story games like Black Myth: Wukong, but I’ve been skeptical, especially after so many recent flops. And yeah, indie games are a great alternative, but even that market is getting pretty saturated. There are definitely gems out there, though—I just need to keep my eyes peeled for them.
That said, I do still appreciate the stunning graphics that come with AAA games when they manage to tell a great story. Even if I’m probably more likely to break a bowling ball with my head than they are to actually able to create a good title! If you’ve read this far, feel free to check out my Twitch at https://www.twitch.com/crypticity and give me a follow! I’ll do my best to answer whatever questions you throw my way!
Now, I’m off to dive back into some web development—and maybe watch another episode of Peaky Blinders. Yep, I’m new to it, and it’s been a great choice so far. But now it’s time to get back to it... down the rabbit hole we go!
