We all remember the P2P platforms of the late 90s and early 2000s: Napster, LimeWire, and Kazaa. These platforms were a haven for malware, viruses, and every other "PC disease" you could think of. Yet, if you were lucky, they let you download your favorite TV shows, movies, and music. For years, these platforms were our go-to because cable television and radio just couldn’t provide the on-demand functionality we craved. BitTorrent, introduced in 2001, brought a new level of efficiency, but it was initially too complex for the average user to set up. Over time, the bloated and increasingly risky P2P platforms became less appealing, paving the way for torrents to rise in popularity. With torrents, users weren’t tied to a single application. ...

Look, an update!

Yeah, yeah, I know—I’m really bad at these updates. Mostly because I’ve got so much going on, especially with the holiday season in full swing. But hey, I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! As for updates, they’ve mostly been minor. The main thing is I finally decided to do something about my top hero section, which always annoyed me. So, I gave it a complete overhaul, making it more aesthetic with a “night sky” theme. Now it has twinkling stars, shooting stars… AND Mr. Coffeenaut! I know, it’s a little corny, but I love watching him zoom around! On top of that, I did some minor code tweaks to fix bugs and theme issues.

Soft Launch

Welcome to Cryptic Network! This site is still not complete as there is still a lot that needs to be done on the back-end. However, I want to test a soft launch on putting things into production. This will allow me to check for bugs that I would normally not be able to find. Additionally, I am testing the waters on certain statistical back-end components to see how they would work in production. Overall, I am excited to start getting this started and don't want to keep putting it off as I don't think I would ever have "perfection". I do have more to come, such as forums, so you as the community can have a place to hang out and discuss what is on your mind.
